Evidence ladder
Not all evidence carries the same weight. We rank sources by how directly they support a claim — stronger claims need stronger, more direct evidence.
1. Finished-product clinical trials
The most direct evidence for what a complete formula does at a defined dose and duration. To our knowledge, no published clinical trial has tested the complete Balmorex Pro formula itself — the evidence below concerns individual ingredients, not the finished cream.
2. Ingredient-level clinical trials
Useful for understanding what an individual ingredient (like MSM or Boswellia) has shown in controlled human studies — but not automatically transferable to a different formulation, concentration, or delivery method.
3. Systematic reviews & meta-analyses
Useful for seeing whether results for an ingredient are consistent across multiple studies and populations, rather than relying on a single trial.
4. Mechanistic research & government health guidance
Helpful for biological plausibility (how menthol activates cold receptors, for example) and for general health context, but weaker on its own for proving a consumer-product outcome.

How we use references
- A source is linked only when it's relevant to the specific claim or evidence framework being discussed.
- Ingredient-level research is never presented as proof that the complete Balmorex Pro formula has itself been clinically tested.
- Government sources (FDA, NIH/NIAMS, NIH/NCCIH) are preferred for regulation, safety and general health guidance.
- Systematic reviews and meta-analyses are preferred over single small trials when discussing an ingredient's evidence base.
- Mixed or negative findings — like the arnica muscle-pain trial above — are described as such, not omitted or reframed as a positive result.
Important evidence limitations
Research on an individual ingredient, its mechanism, or a related delivery format does not automatically establish that a specific branded finished product produces the same outcome. Concentration, formulation, other ingredients present, application method, and individual skin and body all matter and are rarely identical between a clinical study and a store-bought jar.
